Cleary Bros were engaged by the NSW Roads and Maritime Servicesworks to protect the piers of the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge from coastal erosion. The project involved the construction of a 4m high and 140m long revetment wall keyed into the coastal rock platform. Rock for the project was sourced from Cleary Bros Albion Park Quarry, with specialty blasting techniques employed to produce the 8-tonne boulders required for this project.
The project involved the intermittent closure of the Sea Cliff Bridge, and were programmed in such a way as to not adversely affect local and visitor vehicular and pedestrian traffic including bus routes and emergency services. Cleary Bros consulted closely with local residents, RMS, Council, and local bus companies to ensure any disruptions were minimised.
