The NSW Land and Environment Court has upheld a decision by the Minister for Planning to grant consent for the continuation of the Gerroa Sand Resource. The decision allows mining to continue on the site which has been active for over 50 years. As per previous consents, strict environmental controls will ensure the site continues to be managed to the highest environmental standards and controls. The decision protects the employment of over 100 full time employees and provides the region with continuous economic benefits.
