Summary
Completed in 06, arguably one of the most challenging and environmentally sensitive projects undertaken by the company. The project is nearing completion with the playing fields almost complete, and the beginning of earthworks for car parking and ammenities facilities.
A major component of the Shell Cove Project, being jointly developed by Shellharbour Council and Australand, Myimbarr includes 11.5 hectares of freshwater wetlands containing 9 deep ponds, 1.5 hectares of saltmarsh, a tidal lagoon, habitat island and more than 250,000 native plants.
The man-made wetland areas form stage one of the overall 33-hectare Myimbarr Community Park project, which includes six sporting fields and a proposed 10-hectare passive recreation zone incorporating environmental educational walking tracks and viewing stands
Work on the Myimbarr project was recognised with an Environmental Excellence honour for Cleary Brothers, at the NSW Case Earth Awards.
